Our partner Arkema, which has a long history of high performance materials for medical applications , now announces the launch of a new high-strength medical polymer made from Advanced Bio-Circular Polyamide 11 to replace metal and traditional polymers in demanding medical applications .Arkema's Advanced Bio-Circular (ABC) materials have long been proven in some of the world's most demanding applications . These bio-based, recyclable polymers are derived from Arkema's leading amino-11 chemistry, which in turn is derived from the oil of the renewable castor bean. The castor bean is not in direct competition with the food chain and does not cause deforestation. "With this new product, we have found an ideal material for our surgical instruments that is easier to process than the PARA (polyarylamide) we previously used. Its bio-based nature has given us a real advantage to meet our customers' demand for more sustainable materials. "Arkema continues to innovate to offer sustainable and recyclable materials based on our polyamide 11 patent for the most demanding and challenging markets.
