MedNet GmbH is committed to greater sustainability and has been climate-neutral since June 2022. An interdisciplinary project team has determined MedNet's carbon footprint with the support of the independent certifier Climate Extender. The aim is to reduce the emissions identified in this way. The emissions generated each year, which include factors such as energy and water consumption, but also the commuting behavior of the approximately 50 employees, are also offset by supporting certified climate protection projects.Managing Director Ole Stein emphasizes that it is an important step towards the future for the company, which was founded in 1990: "Climate protection is not a fashion trend, but is part of the responsible actions of every company. We are proud to make a contribution to climate protection and also see this as a competitive advantage that we can pass on not only to our customers, but also to our employees as added value. "To offset emissions, MedNet invests in designated climate protection projects: to protect the rainforest in the Amazon region, wildlife and forests in various protected areas in Zimbabwe and to generate renewable energy with a run-of-river power plant in Indonesia. All projects support the UN's climate targets for the sustainable reduction of greenhouse gases. The project team at MedNet is now working together on measures to improve the CO2 balance. For example, suppliers are being scrutinized and a job bike is being offered to employees.
