With Propell T, Foster has expanded its Propell product line with a technology that enables the production of translucent end products with improved sliding properties.Foster's Propell platform shows particular efficiency with polymers with a low degree of hardness. ProPell reduces their naturally high friction. Polymer compounds manufactured with ProPell are used, for example, in tubing for interventional or central venous catheter applications, which tubes require low friction in addition to high material flexibility. Foster's Propell platform enables precisely this combination of properties: a soft polymer with a low coefficient of friction and, for the corresponding field of application in vascular systems or for infusion purposes, the translucency of the material is also helpful in order to ensure that medical personnel can see the transported media and their flow behavior. Medical technology products whose plastic components are manufactured using Propell T technology can meet these requirements. The reduced friction of compounds produced with Propell also makes it easier to process the materials in the production of extruded and injection-molded components.
