High-performance polymers

Aromatic thermoplastic polyurethanes are available in polyether and polyester grades. The fully automated, continuous reaction production offers cross-batch consistency for Shore hardness grades from 75A to 70D. Various grades have been successfully tested according to USP Class VI.

Thermoplastic processable fluoropolymer with excellent chemical resistance, high purity and thermal stability as well as low frictional resistance. Kynar® also has high tensile strength and excellent gas and radiation resistance. These polymers are USP Class VI certified and can be sterilized with gamma radiation or steam.

Semi-crystalline, semi-aromatic polyamide made from meta-xylene diamine, which offers better mechanical strength than nylon 6 and 6/6 with significantly lower moisture absorption. It also has better gas barrier properties against oxygen and carbon dioxide and is therefore well suited for use in packaging.

These thermoplastic elastomers made of soft elastomer and rigid polyamide (nylon) segments enable a wide range of physical and mechanical properties. They are plasticizer-free, can be melted and are certified to USP Class VI and ISO 10993 standards.

Flexible polyamides made from hydrocarbons, they have the lowest relative density (1.01) of all polyamides. Rilsamid® polymers offer outstanding formability, low moisture absorption and are suitable for both extrusion and injection molding.

Rilsan® Clear grades are polyamides (G170) and co-polyamides (G850) that offer an optimum combination of transparency, low weight and flexibility. It is more transparent than glass and more flexible than polycarbonate. Rilsan® Clear MED is often used, for example, in the manufacture of respiratory masks or hearing aids.

FKZM MED is a highly glass filled advanced polymer that has engineering material properties and performance with a bio-based and sustainable based polymer (polyamide 11). It has excellent physical properties, along with biocompatibility, sterilizability (including steam), chemical resistance, processability, colorability (including a standard color pallet), and excellent aesthetics.

Flexible polyamides (nylons) made from castor oil, a renewable raw material, with a low specific weight (1.03), making them 15% lighter than nylon 6.Rilsan® polymers offer excellent stretchability, low moisture absorption, easy processing and replace conventional medical materials such as glass or metal.
